As the date falls on a Friday, Filipinos can look forward to the first major long weekend of May, providing a much-needed break for employees and a significant opportunity for the domestic tourism sector.

- Public Transport: Major transport hubs (LRT, MRT, and provincial bus terminals) will remain operational but may run on a limited holiday schedule.

Since May 1 creates a Friday-Saturday-Sunday cluster, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and Department of Transportation (DOTr) are expected to issue travel advisories by mid-April.
